It seems to me almost retarded not to have have the duck, I mean, it will make people stop and talk about the statue and kids will love it with the duck, it is an absolute no brainer for me.

I'm getting confused with this East Lancashire Railway lark. When I were a lad, my parents were in a lobbying group called Save the East Lancs Railway but that referred to the line between Preston and Colne. Just lately with the Flying Scotsman stuff, the East Lancs Railway seems to revolve around Bury??

So which is the East Lancs Railway?

The East Lancs railway is from Bury to Rowanstall (spelling) via Ramsbottom. It is one of the premier preserved railways in this country, long with the likes of the North Yorkshire Moors, The Severn Valley, The Bluebell, The Mid Hants and the Swannage railway

The father of one of my regular companions during my mis-spent youth in Lincoln was a railways fanatic - so much so that his son was called Mallard.
True story!

Get rid of the bloke and enlarge the duck
