you owe me a bacon sarny in exchange for the energy you saved!:biggrin:

And, to the idiot* I was slipstreaming, can't you work in the town centre.

*new definition of idiot: someone I can't slipstream for very long before they turn off ;)

He overtook about 300 meters before turning off and it was starting to made the 13th mile sooo much easier.

Still, averaged an acceptable 16.8mph. I'm going to have to blame the cars for slowing me down at one bit (3 miles of slow filtering where usually they'd be zooming past me too close, but i'd be able to hold a faster speed along that stretch of road). That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Wondered if that was me, but wrong area
I had someone pass me today cycling into work, which has never happened before, so i sat in his slipstream for a mile or two, then offered to take the lead for the last mile ish

Do you commute from Woking to Norwich?

Yep. It's a nice gentle work out before the day ahead.

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: lol...no. I just live in both (Uni and home). I commute to Leatherhead, which is about 135 miles less at 13.5 miles

After fussing about wanting a bacon sarny earlier, I was't as hungry today and didn't have my flake (it's saved in my draw )

for the third time in a month I've had someone ask me where I'm going while waiting at the lights at the Green Man roundabout, all gave me a wistful look when I said Highams Park

I'd picked them up bombing down the Mile End Road and up through Letonstone

The chap today was going to Brentwood of all places, 20 miles still to go, no wonder he looked wistful, he was good enough to say thanks for the tow for what must have been 7 odd miles, bless

I dont like sitting behind people, I get the impression they dont like it, so I go to overtake them, like yesterday some guy on a roadie doing 23-24 and I felt I had to overtake him, so there I was doing 29mph overtaking him, then for the next mile was doing about 25-26mph knackered myself cause I think they wont stay behind me they'll end up overtaking me. But then they will get tired too.

I did once overtake someone - he must have been slow - and then he nearly killed himself trying to catch me back up. He didn't quite make it - he really must have been slow. Maybe if he'd put some air in his tyres or lubed his chain he might have made it ..

You go faster if someone is drafting you btw.

Was true, but only because I wasn't getting shown up. When I saw him I told him I'd slip stream him for a while and he just said "don't worry, you're fine" - bastard, get in front, I thought!! Oh well, he looked like he had a lighter bike and probably fitter than me...he didn't have a rucksack on either, so really I was quite happy with my effort!

Now, some videos from my ride...first a bit of road rage:

(I did agree with the guy getting annoyed, but he was a little OTT considering he didn't actually get anywhere any faster).

And I had this ridiculously stupid & close overtake:

(shall I send this video to the local taxi licensing board - who do I contact if I should?)

cripes...
that was a close overtake!

Not sure who you would write to about the taxi though, the reg number is EX58SVJ or EX58SVO - i'm sur eyou can see better on your hard copy of the incident...

I agree with the post on YouTube. it looks like they're contracted to do a school run or take kids on a day-trip possibly.
The Bus had a tag in the front windscreen marked "BUS 18" or "BUS 19", should help identify.

Just noticed the rear right door has the company logo of AMK Group from Liphook and their clients do include a few local councils.

I would write to them about the incident. possibly email them with an attachment of the incident.

Cheers! You caught more than I did with the sign on the window! I've sent them a brief email with a link to the video. I wonder if/how they'll respond.
