That wasn’t coming out easily. It was totally knackered ( after 3 years and about 18000 hard life miles ). However, after a lot of swearing and hitting with hammers, and standing on the spanner and B.B. tool and jumping up and down, it came out.

Getting the new one in was a doddle in comparison. I put a new cassette and chain on whilst I was about it. That should give me another 3 years out of this bike ( hopefully),
