I remember an ad campaign like that from yonks ago, it went summat like:

"Cyclists see things you don't (close up of broken glass in the gutter)

Cyclists notice things you don't (close up of a slathering dog straining the leash)"

Anyone remember?

Seen this? Not my clip, B P Mitchell employ violent thugs:
That guy deserved a public order offence as well to be nailed for his driving.

If the cops slapped a section 59 on him they could confiscate the lorry on a second offence. That would make his employer ecstatic.

We keep talking about this national advertising campaign, surely there's enough cyclists in the UK to make it happen.

That Irish video that's been making the rounds on YouTube is almost perfect, just copy it and get a famous person who cycles to voice it and some good slots on national TV/papers (the expensive part but, we could crowd fund it). Nothing too aggressive just state the facts, show what it looks like on the road and state the reasons.

Honestly I'm starting to think people genuinely believe we ride like we do to wind them up, the genuinely think there is a law that we have to keep left and that we MUST use cycle lanes etc

Something along the lines of the David Coulthard film that we're seeing regularly at the moment - maybe reviewing a cyclist being taken out at a pinch point?

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
They wont listen to ads etc...well perhaps over time, bit like the drink drive campaigns ...dunno...but until plod consistently enforce the law in a zero tolerance manner, and that law is changed to hit bad drivers hard in the pocket, remove licences etc on first offences etc...they wont change. Basically bad drivers are bad because they don't give a s**t about other road users, just themselves. When driving badly becomes dangerous financially for them they may wake up..not before.

Im not tarring all drivers, just bad drivers. Careless drivers are also bad drivers. 'I didn't mean to, or I didn't see you' isn't good enough...a careful driver doesn't just look he/she SEES. If you cant SEE then you don't go..simples.

Personally I'd impound the car, remove the licence and fine them a years pay on a conviction as a bare minimum...with a law change to automatically place fault on the least vulnerable road user involved in any incident...like the dutch I hear.
But that's just me...

Jensen Button or DC would be a great choice to feature in the advert Jensen is a bloody decent cyclist and the connection is there to the boy racer / middle aged track day hero driver.

I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't in F1 he went into professional sports as an Olympic athlete. He's fit as buggery - he does triathlons for fun!

Had an absolute muppet of a bus driver today. Normally I find London bus drivers very considerate, but this one overtook me as she was indicating left to pull into a bus stop. What she was thinking of I have no idea, she had been following me in heavy traffic for a few minutes, so knew I was there. I let fly some rather strong language but didn't stop to argue as she just looked confused so I suspect had no idea she had run me into the kerb. In fact today was full of muppet drivers, one didn't look as they turned left and nearly hit the car in front of me, whilst another one signalled right at a junction, and as I was approaching suddenly turned left across a traffic lane.
