During my time in the RN I have fired countless rounds of ordnance at the rock to the right of the Little Mew as Wembury was home to the Royal Navy School of Gunnery

I've also flown over that 4.5 inch gun in a Canberra target tug. It seems as if you're looking straight down the barrel when it fires, despite the target being 6000 feet behind...
