Meat and potato and they caused a great deal of anxiety. I'd used stewing steak, mushrooms, onion and celery with salt, pepper and marmite to season the mix. I'd cooked cubed potato separately and had over-salted them making the combined mix a tad salty so I thought.....
Tea plate sized pies.
Thursdays tend to be pie days and I had a new tutorial client to test the pie on.
Me: So what do you think?
Pupil: It was fantastic. The best pie that I've ever had. Did you make the pastry? What was in the filling?
Me: Yes I made the pastry. The filling had steak, onions, salt pepper, celery, mushrooms and potato.
Pupil: I don't like celery and mushrooms.
Me: Oh....
Pupil: Can I have some more?
Me:
I had ten very happy pie eaters today.
