Today's TdF, fatter tyres for the pavé?

Watching the TV, it looks like the riders pick much chunkier tyres for today's nasty surfaces.

they probably used their Paris-Roubaix spec bikes today, stronger wheels, double wrapped bar tape & fatter tyres/lower pressures, was interesting to see t hat the teams also had their GC men have an escort by one of their one day classics guy's to help out

Yeah, they did say that in the commentary re the bikes. It's why Bardet was hopping from one bike to another after mechanicals.

And out of the time cut if they tried to change the tyre. the mechanic would be better off chucking the wheels in the hedge bottom!!

Anyone know what tyres they were running? I bet none were using the awful Giant P-R tyres. Sticky enough for cobbles but puncture magnets.

I’ve also found out they have suspension systems , some put brake levers on top of their bars , loads of stuff going on to combat cobbles,
