Todmorden to Manchester along the canal for a Brompton?

As the title says, I've been down the canal to Manchester, but I can't remember the quality of the towpath to Manchester.

Is it suitable for a Brompton folder?

I do Oldham to Manchester regularly down the Rochdale canal towpath on my birdy. You may find it a bit skittery on some short stretches of gravel and the cobbles can be interesting in the wet but its quite readily do'able

I couldn't tell you what its like to Rochdale from the Morrisons at Hollinwood tho

Cheers, I'll have a bash this weekend, I really think I need to find an alternative route before I get squished on the A56.
