In a pathetic attempt to restore my credibility I had a look through the Keirin finishes from this afternoon. Buchli does it, and Zielinski did over the line and again while winding down, but the latter was just pulling a face. Suspect it's a combination of effort, having to get as much air in as possible, habit / reflex, and watching too much Tommy Voeckler.

Yes, she's very talented in that way. She occasionally gets criticised for putting it out, but she takes it on the chin.

I've not watched the ceremonies, largely on account of an intense dislike of the dreadful anthem, but Wiggo is Wiggo. He both craves and fears the limelight so does Stuff to hide behind.

Edited to add: amateur psychology at its very worst.

Finally got round to catching up with Desert Island Discs this afternoon and Wiggo was one of the guests (before his Hour Challenge: I'm a bit behind). Much to my surprise, he confirmed my theory and said he's an introvert who plays the clown to hide that.
