The Police have just called. They can't take it any further as there is not enough evidence......

The driver has admitted to being on the road, admits sounding his horn at me, but me turning round and sticking my hand up (no fingers used) althogh he has 'interpreted' it as sticking fingers up, he has also thought I was being aggressive ? No explanation of him revving his engine, nor to him swerving at me......... nothing to back my story up. Some inconsistances about his road positioning also.

The incident has been logged as inteligence against the driver, and he has been warned about his driving, oh and I've also been told not to stick my hand up to drivers.............WTF.

Time to swing a d-lock instead then ..........

TBH this is the best outcome I realistically expected, the driver has had a visit, and has been questioned - hopefully this will make him think about his driving.

From my limited experience of the Police, you got the most I expected as well. The Police are not interested in intimidation of cyclists without witnesses, it comes down to one persons word against another and they have no way of knowing who is telling the truth.

According to the DfT statistics, for some reason, May and October are the most dangerous months for cyclists.
Low Sun in the morning and evening maybe?

So I guess if you add/subtract 6 months (i.e. for us DownUnder ex-convicts ;)), that makes it April and November? I guess I'd better take extra care of those sun-blinded motorists, then. Can't have them using the low sun as their SMIDSY excuse, can I? Actually, I probably shouldn't even joke about that; sometimes I could swear some Melbourne motorists would jump at that excuse!

What was the explaination for his use of the horn though? Since he is admitting that, surely he should have to explain why.

At least the police are trying, they openly say it's a menace and they are probably having trouble getting something to pin him with too.

Well exactly. Why ?

Beeped horn and told me to 'fing get out of the way' - me turning round and raising hand and saying 'F off' was interpreted as being aggressive, so it was OK for him to rev his car at me, then chase me, then try and run me off the road, and chase again.......... great.

The reason why I ask, because word against word isn't evidence enough - though if you both agree on the same statement it's valid.

So currently we have the horn being used. I would be asking why the horn was used - and I surely would hope the Police would ask that too - I would be asking them (Police) now for the answer.

I doubt they are saying it's okay for him to "chase you" but they cannot prove that point.
