For most species of house spider, the Beryls have slightly larger bodies than the Geoffs but the Geoffs have longer legs

This is interesting. It seems that female house spiders don't generally eat the males after mating

I was very impressed with the handy work of one of the little blighter's, he'd anchored one end of his web to the guttering on the extension and the other end to my Buddleia thats a good eight-nine feet away from the guttering. Personally I don't mind them, my Good Lady isn't keen on them or insects in general.
