Wasn't really a jest, Whinlatter in the dark would be fun!
Getting back from Whitehaven would mean a train either upto Carlisle or down via Barrow to Lancaster for the West Coast mainline.
I'd be happy to recce a route.

The frequency and capacity of the trains from Whitehaven would preclude all but the smallest of events.
