It was just one of those mornings really.

I woke up at 5:00 and couldn't get back to sleep. It was also a beautiful, totally still, crisp morning and although it was pitch Black, I wanted to tackle the lanes in the dark before I had no alternative with the nights steadily drawing in.

So, I dug out a Hope Vision 1 and stuck it on my helmet and rode in.

Riding through Sittingbourne was surprisingly busy, but everyone gave me plenty of room and it was quite weird riding in the dark when you haven't done it for ages, so it made a nice change from the usual monotony.

Dawn broke as I crossed the top of the North Downs and I was treated to glorious views of misty, rolling landscapes and silhouetted Rabbits scarpering for cover across the fields as I wheezed towards them

As the Sun started to rise I just had to slow down, kick back and drink in the scenery.
I even came over all arty, forgot all about the chase for the PB and took some snaps.....

So, I'm now sat at work, having changed and swigged down a large hot chocolate.
I haven't been in long enough for the stress to start and I'm feeling at one with my inner being

Thank you bike

Yes it is

I'm incredibly fortunate and I have to keep reminding myself about that fact when I'm moaning about the climb, the ice, the thorns etc. A lot of the time it is very scenic

I have a few miles of urban riding, the busy A20 runs through the dip in the middle of pic 5 and I have to do a few miles on that on the way home for example but apart from that, and riding through Sittingbourne, it's very nice

Thanks chaps

Very nice - flat too!!!

That's just the top though!

I have to climb over 600 feet to get there, which is a lot for me

Thanks all

Yeh, sunrise is superb.

My alarm is 04:30 and I'm on the road at 04:45 for my 90 minutes to work.

The entire morning's ride is in darkness now and the sun is just rising as I walk across from the shower block to my office.

These last couple of mornings, Venus has been spectacular in Leo to the east.

Orion to the south. Majestic.

Great pics and it looks and sounds like you had a lovely commute in.

I had to drive today as I was picking stuff up from the printers and I am away for a few days next week. Still there's the Sunday run to look forward to.

Thanks for sharing the pics
