Unfortunately, it was back to the breathless, sweaty struggle for a PB

Yeh, sunrise is superb.

My alarm is 04:30 and I'm on the road at 04:45 for my 90 minutes to work.

The entire morning's ride is in darkness now and the sun is just rising as I walk across from the shower block to my office.

These last couple of mornings, Venus has been spectacular in Leo to the east.

Orion to the south. Majestic.

Try telling that to a cager, and you'll be deemed a lunatic.

They don't know what they're missing.

I miss my commute. It wasn't anywhere near as scenic as yours but early morning riding is a beautiful way to wake up! 2 more years of uni and I can get a job with a nice commute. That's what I'm looking forward to most!

It is an advantage of being up early

Sadly, the commute won't be like that for long, most of it will be in darkness soon
Mind you, there's the still, frosty mornings to look forward too soon
