Specifically, can I carry a standard swiss army penknife in cabin luggage. It is a forrester model, ie non locking under 3" blade. I see signs at airports that this is now permitted but is this the case for all airlines?

I had a pair of pliers accidentally left in my rucksack by accident after a bike tourand they were confiscated never to be seen again....

If you want pointy sharp things I think you have to fly business class where they hand them out with your meal.....

I'll never forget ordering steak airside and being served with a normal fork and a "knife" that was basically a spoon.

I just looked at the waitress. She apologised but couldn't do anything other than offer a replacement meal.

I had one of these confiscated. I suppose they thought I was going to unbolt the wing.

I wish you could give multiple likes, I laughed so hard I nearly knocked the table over.
The scanner on an EasyJet flight picked up a suspicious metallic object in my small backpack. It was a router collet with a £35 Trend cutter attached. Lord knows what it was doing there. My mistake was to tell them that it was a "cutter". They let me keep the collet. It would actually be pretty hard to do any serious damage to anybody with a router cutter without the tool that rotates it.
