Any five programs that I get to see that aren't on Mrs Vernon's or Vernonette's must watch list. By the time you subtract the news and the weather that leaves Sponge Bob Square Pants.

Have you followed Bob Odenkirk over to Better Call Saul? He's brilliant.

I thought the gnarly old security bloke, whatever his name was, would have been a good character for a spin-off. Other than for the fact he was killed off. But this is TV and you can do anything on TV.

Mike is there, in all his pre-killed-off gnarlyness.

Tuco also makes an early appearance. It's a slow-burner – nobody's going to fall of the edge of their seat – but full of great performances, including Michael McKean as Saul's EHS brother.

Just been cheering myself up with the final episodes of The Wire season 2. It really is good, on so many levels.

I personally love the dialogue, especially when I don't understand it. And it's portrayal of working classes and poverty, putting a context to criminality.

The Wire has got to be up there with the best TV ever made. I'm sure some will not agree. I'd expect that. We all see things differently.

Today, I reckon it's probably the following...

Buffy (Seasons 1 - 3)
Supernatural (Seasons 1 - 4)
Nightingales
Spaced
Deadlands (Season 1)

... but it'd probably change a bit once I'd slept.

I Claudius
Wolf Hall
Fawlty Towers
Happy Valley
West Wing
Clavdivs is pretty awesome. Due a rewatch I think.
Brian Blessed's acting as Augustus, particularly when Livia
poisons him and delivers her monologue while he is completely still with his eyes open for more than 4 minutes
. Incredible.
