Top cap thingy for threadless steerer

A few years back now we fitted a stem extender to raise the bars of Mrs Uncle Phil's tourer, and so removed the cap thingy - it wasn't needed with the extender.

Now we're planning to sell the bike on, and so have removed the rather ugly extender - but of course the top cap has gone missing, leaving us no way to secure the sttem to the star nut inside the steerer.

Anybody got one going spare?

I have a 1" inch one of a Cane Creek headset somewhere. Do you know what size you need?

Sadly, it's a 1 1/8" steerer. But thanks for the thought.
