Witnessed yesterday and today by me. Both cars!

Yesterday, out in the country, come to a traffic light controlled single file bridge, Lights are green as I approach, but I'm expecting them to turn, and I won't amber gamble (I wouldn't anyway) because the single file bit is longish, and on a blind corner. As I expect, they turn red, so I pull up (glad of the breather TBH) and a car comes from behind me and goes round me and straight over the red light. Not an amber, actual red, and had been for a second or so. I shouted something at her, but I doubt she heard, Sadly, there wasn't a great big tractor coming the other way either for her to give way to.

Today, left out of my road. There's a funny double light set, because the gateway in the city wall causes a single file pinch point. The first set has a permanent green for bikes, because we have a little gateway to go through, and a red to hold motorvehicle traffic back when the other way is green. After the wall, there's a standard set of lights at the cross roads for everyone. I go through the cycle green light, just as the motor lights go red, and am aware of a car coming through alongside anyway. The 'normal' set, at the cross roads, are red as well, so I'm pulling up, but the car that came through just sails through them as well and turns left. Again, not just on amber or the turn, but on a good solid red...

One day I really do mean to go and stand at a few junctions with my helmet cam, and just record an hour at a time, to see how many drivers do jump reds...

(of course, I'd see a fair few cyclists do it too, alas).

I can get ten an hour, on a road that most shouldn't even be on. Maybe we should see who can get the most in that time.
Possible slight advantage in that I can just leave the camera pointing out the window.

There is a set of lights outside my flat, and the amount of RLJ is shocking. Have no idea why there is no cam there as it rake a very penny in.

afraid i see loads of cars just going through a solid red all the time. Not just changed, but red for a good while. Makes me wait at green lights a bit longer now just incase somone does it as i'm going through a green light. of course MotorBikes do this all the time grrrrrr

I used to live next to a set of lights that had approaching a 100% RLJ light sequence record for cars. I've not seen any really bad ones since the Dukes of Hazards one a while back and that other one that got nearly took a family car out sideways.

I find motorbikes very law abiding in London, cars regular go through solid reds when they know they cam, bikes still by far and away the worse offenders, even on busy unjumpabe junctions they push right out in the junction for no reason and worry the traffic trying to cross

i dunno, the motorbikes i've seen are pretty bad, 80% of the rlj's of the motorbike type i see are couriors

Last Thursday I was coming down to the Crammond Brig in the bus lane. There's lights for both the bus lane and the other lane (a bus priority thing). A 4x4 goes straight through the red light in his lane and the following BMW only about a foot off the 4x4's bumper swerved at the last moment into the bus lane which had green rather than going through red ;). Fortunately I had eased off at that point to freewheel down the hill so I wasn't in the melee.

I don't often see RLJ motorbikes, IME they tend to amber gamble more.

I wonder where they got this from?;)
