40mph according to Strava on an Android phone, not sure I trust it though!

My 53.6 was recorded on strava and my cataye said 53.3 so I think strava is fairly accurate

I must be faster than I thought then! 40mph isn't bad for a mountain bike on semi-slicks with a (very) inexperienced rider.

Oer 100kph+ riding a new Carbon Pinarello I'd hired in Mallorca. It was on the hill coming down into Petra with a fierce wind behind me. Plus I'm heavy.
Thought I was going to die. Bottled out eventually and put the brakes on. Never been as fast as that on a bike.
Probably mid 40mph tops. I don't normally ride with a computer.

42 mph down off the top of Exmoor on my Trek 7.1 and a change of underware at the bottom !

37-38mph on a Brompton. I have done faster than that on my other bike, but those speeds on a bike with 16 inch wheels and narrow handle bars is something else entirely.

35 1/2 mph on a 67" fixed. Was only for about two hundred yards as I couldn't spin at that rpm for long.
