Torque Wrench

Hi there - I've now bought myself the following torque wrench. It looks and feels great. The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is that the gauge only displays even numbers whereas my two bikes that require adjustment are odd numbered nm (5 and 7). I presume I just set the torque wrench inbetween the two even numbers?

Be sure after you use it to set it back on the low setting most you can go a little under but never go more than it is called for I use Park torque wrench my self.

I use the same wrench, they are made under a number of different names, and it's a decent enough piece of kit especially for a chronic over-tightener like me.

You're right re splitting the numbers.

I've got another question - on the torque wrench instructions it says to gently tighten the bolts with a regular wrench, then once you feel some resistance in the bolt, switch to the torque wrench. I presume that would mean it would be ok for me to start with a multi tool allen key, then switch to the torque wrench for the correct torque?

Gently is the key, a torque wrench should not be used as a socket set, you will be fine using a multi tool, just stop and switch as soon as you feel any resistance, you will be fine, I also have the same torque wrench, I use a small 1/4 inch Bhaco socket set to get things started, or a set of allen keys
