My Good Friday was a journey into hell.... followed by heaven 
2 of us rode from Worcester to Staines [ 110 miles ish ] to watch the City play Staines Town FC in a league match.....
I have never been so wet and cold, my mate was pretty slow, he isn't a regular cyclist. We got to the top of Fish Hill and then the rain started, it was also very cold. A combination of wind, cold, wet and low speed left me in a certain amount of distress tbh..
The sun eventually came out near Chipping Norton but by then I was completely soaked. My mate was ok as he was struggling with lack of fitness so was actually quite hot
The rest of the trip was just a battle with the strong easterly wind and occasional shower.
We got there at half time [ City were one up ] to a brilliant reception from both sets of supporters and were led on to the pitch for an interview and pics.
The reason we had done the ride was to raise money to help the City as the club is in dire straits financially and is being held afloat by the supporters. They almost went bust last week. At least £1200 had already been raised by the ride and the Staines supporters bunged at another 100 quid in the collecting bucket during the match and folk were coming up and pushing money at us for the rest of the evening.
We really appreciated the welcome and friendliness of the supporters and staff at Staines, nice one
