Which one? I want to buy my hubby one for Christmas I know some are classed better than others but what make? I'm not specifically looking for a cheap one.

He's going to be building our new extension next year and was saying he needed a new Level, he won't be expecting me to buy this so it will be a suprise. However, I'm not sure which would be the best one to buy and what would be the best size. Totally a man thing! so come on guys share some advise. Pretty please :girl:

four foot is enough for any man. Five foot is showing off. If he needs to take levels across a greater distance he can always do it the old=fashioned way, turning a piece of timber on edge (and checking by using both edges) and if he wants to go from one side of the house to another, then it's hosepipe time. Stabila is the name to go for.

If you truly wanted to spoil him, get him a laser level. Don't expect to see the extension built, though - he'd be inviting his mates round for 'laser bbqs'.

you're welcome, although I suspect that it's all some kind of surreal jape, in which you trap diy nerds in to exposing themselves. If so.....well done!
This one's my favourite. Damn, I've exposed my nerdy self.

Stabila. No arguments. Best bubbles in the business.

Go to a proper builder's merchants (not B&Q etc) and you'll likely find a "gift pack" with two or three levels.

Of course if you really loved him, you'd be looking a disc cutters (Husqvarna, Stihl have gone off the boil)...
