Chickens can be quite vicious. Woe betide any rodent or amphibian they happen upon as they WILL eat it. After playing tug o'war with it for a while....

I've heard of chickens aiming for the eyes of attackers. Pecking them.

My two old girls both got attacked by foxes and did get away (thanks to my Dad running into the garden).
