He was going pretty well again in 2023, third in Tirreno-Adriatico is nothing to be sniffed at, then won Tour of The Alps convincingly, including two stages. He was sitting in third place after ten stages of the Giro, 5" behind G and 2" behind Roglic, when he was wiped out.*

*No, I don't remember all this stuff, I looked it up

He would have won that giro

I think we'll see next season. He's got another year to show he can make it back, but even if he does get to 2020 Giro winning levels the peloton level has gone up massively in 5 years. When he won his Giro, neither Pog nor Vingegaard had won a Tour, Ayuso and Del Toro hadn't raced a pro race and Seixas was barely out of his dad's urethra.

Slight correction. Pog HAD already won a TDF as he won in 2020, which was before TGH’s Giro win.

Ineos have named a team capable of challenging for to 10s in stages and the general classification.

Just in case people are doing Velogames and have not seen the related thread the years Cyclechatting league code is 546123713.
Also there is now for those not picking Pog a Cyclechatters Pogless league whose code is 845690921, a potential sort of best of the rest if Pog is himself in TdF

I have to say I think that part is a silly idea...
