They are not getting much leeway
I seem to remember Wiggins slowing the peloton.
I know he's had a tough tour, but with O'Connor, Rodriguez and Skeljmose up there, they aren't going to be allowed to ride away to win the stage by 10 minutes.
So if he drops them, they clearly got under his skin, and if he gets dropped, they clearly got under his skin. Excellent. He might do, but that would surely be a sign that they're getting under his skin
Honestly, he's been tetchy all Tour
Not going to be allowed anything by the looks of it
So if he drops them, they clearly got under his skin, and if he gets dropped, they clearly got under his skin. Excellent.

You said: "also to put to bed the psychobabble about Visma getting under his skin"
If he's doing something specifically because people are saying Visma got under his skin then that's pretty definitive that they have, no?

The fact that a rider crossed in front of him yesterday is because VLAB got under his skin
When he won de Ronde it was because WVA got under his skin by attacking on the Kwaremont
. Visma had been attacking, he was isolated and new attacks were just going. Instead of following, he took his right hand off the bars to get on the radio, just as the Uno-X rider came across him. If Visma didn't have him shook he wouldn't have been on the radio, would have had both hands on the bars and probably reacted faster.I didn't say that he was choosing to act because of the rumours, more that it would put things to bed for us armchair commentators.
