Intermediate sprint at 50k Surely today Lidl et al aren't going to let a break go before that. And there's not the incentive for breakaway riders that there was yesterday.

Letting a small break go leaves points on the road to grap and calms down the pace early in the stage . Keeping your team fresher . Then reel them.in for the finish ...or if not still leaves plenty of points at the finish

or will some enterprising breakaway roulers get too much of a lead for diminished sprint teams to pull back. GC teams will want a day off controlling the peloton.
this is potentially ageing better.

i must admit i thought Lidl would be in control until the intermediate, but they appear to have let 5 int sprint positions go up the road already
