The, normally, pithy and dry Imlach letting the emotions in @ 18' 25" 😥

I ended up crying too. It really got to me.

In bits here too.

I'm also thinking a valedictory programme of their favourite bits from the last quarter century would be worthwhile. So much cycling in that time...

I've actually just had a 💡 moment.
Since 2001, ITV's philosophy has, always, been Reithian.
To 'inform, educate and to entertain’ the viewer about Le Grand Boucle.
Can't think of a better compliment.

They did say, when they started, that the idea was to try to not annoy everybody who would watch it anyway whilst also trying to explain it to those who were new to it. Hence all the silly skits they used to do to explain drafting etc.

It's a mark of how completely they achieved it that they no longer needed to.

That's a really nice end feature
Despite having D+ I've watched all ITV this tour , due in part to TV with no stream at work and quicker to access at home (just switch on rather than click though screens) and also in annoyance at the loss of ad free coverage on D+. Reasons aside, the commentary and coverage has been excellent and by and large the personalities involved make a great watch. Will be missed.

Much better final stage with the addition of Montmartre, but obviously not for the sprinters so maybe they can add it on alternating years from now on.

Same - we have D+ but I would always watch the ITV team over that.
