Does anyone else ever wonder how the likes of Andrew Feather (and other regular contenders for the UK hill climbing title) would get on in the TDF?

Few of them regularly ride the sheer distances involved in the TDF. Several of them have ridden some of the epic TDF climbs, with good times. But they haven't done so after a day with several other similar climbs and 150+km.

I haven't fact checked it. But I was told around 2012 that Mark Cavendish rode the tourmalet in that years tour faster than the quickest guy in the etape.

He was in amazing shape that year .

Watts are watts and hill climb courses (UK at least) tend to be pretty short. When the nationals were on The Struggle I believe there was some grumbling that the course was too long.

Seixas wont be riding Le Tour despite his brilliant showing at The Dauph. DAG2R dont want to push him too far too soon. Probably sensible given hes only just stepped up to pro racing, despite his obvious talent...
