Obviously only those with a chance in the stage or a GC position need to give everything, which is only three of the Visma riders today. Jorgenson is about on par with how far behind Remco he was at the Dauphine, Vingegaard underperformed.

Not convinced at that. Jonas has avoided time loss on a couple of finishes that suited Pog much more and has his favoured terrain to look forward to later in the race. Pog managed to briefly get a gap yesterday but it seemed to happen when Jonas looked behind him and he closed back quite easily (possibly as Pog realised there wasn't far enough to the top to hold the gap and knocked it off). It sounds odd considering he won the stage but I didn't think Pog looked at his best yesterday but that's probably as we've got accustomed to seeing him ride away at will whilst this race is a different level.

Yeap Jonas is in a good position tonight!

I don't think the situation is any different to what it was coming into the race or even the last few days. Pogacar has been the huge favourite throughout and that didn't change cos Vingegaard kept up on a couple of cat 4s.

Got to get riders up the road or the galacticos will just win again . Following UAE into the finale is insanity .....

Unseen by the cameras, Onley took British bragging rights, just a couple of minutes down

Not a bad result for him as he isn't renown for a big TT.

mildly interesting Lipo recovered all but a second of the time he lost to Rog in the peloton split on earlier stage, so still very much duel leaders at Bora (until Rog falls off in an innocuous incident)

Most of the middle ranking of riders were just trying to get round saving energy today.

The early riders were ones who will have deliberately sat up yesterday and so were down the rankings, and the domestique are saving energy as it's Stage 5.
