Chinon is famous for red wine, which is unusual for the predominantly white wine producing Loire. It’s made with the Cabernet Franc grape.

Alpecin are weird. I thought it was Visma's tactics that were supposed to be unintelligible? MvdP hasn't bothered contesting for green, even after Philipsen went out. He's 74 points behind Milan already.

Is MvdP just doing a favour for his mate Pog to take the intermediate points from Milan?

They rode for kaden yesterday...I get it . But he had a good finish for him and he was no where near . After philipsen crashed out wanty and alpecin should have been doing this . Wanty especially as philipsen out means alpecin won't chase . Bini is going to need extraordinary luck to win a sprint finish

I agree with everyone here that yesterday and today may not make great viewing or sport even. However, we should remember this is France’s race and for the French it is a wonderful occasion as it passes through their towns and villages, as noted by @CarbonClem above. The whole day is a party.
We should not whinge too much, our fun will come.

To be fair, it’s not so much about such stages not offering great viewing than the fact they have placed them on a weekend. It’s hardly fair on folks working Monday to Friday.
Interestingly, TNT just showed an interview with race “designer”, Thierry Gouvenou and he’s not happy with the excessive control sprinter teams now employ. He said that if teams don’t change their attitude, no more “flat” flat stages.

Yeah, Kaden Groves is probably the quicker of the two Alpecin in a straight sprint, maybe also in an uphill sprint, I understand he's the B-Plan sprinter. But it's a bit late to pivot to green. MvdP should have been out grabbing points five days ago.

TBH I didn't have high hopes for Bini this year, he's not been good at all. Second place on the crosswinds stage was decent though.
