Together again but strung out
Well, that’s a disappointing break, if it sticks.
Now it’s a minute to bridge which should deter a lot of riders…
Where pog and Jonas are I have no idea I
Maybe if we're digging up tactics from a bygone time, Pogacar will wait for the final mountain TT and take a minute+ out of Vingegaard. That worked once, so it's guaranteed to work again (seems to be what we're going with here). The Jorgenson (possible) manoeuvre/strategy would only work in bigger mountain stages, a la Roglic and Vinny,a few years back on the Granon?
And then only if Pog thinks Jorgenson as serious a threat as he did Roglic.
That's worked a charm then, as Pogacar has gained 12 seconds in bonifications over Vingegaard so far. If their tactics are designed to limit their losses, then the GC would seem to make more sense as it stands. On stage ten the climb wasn't really long or steep enough to make a difference - at the speed they're going during an attack there's a few % points to be gained by being in the wheel. It was also far more Pog territory than Jonas, so would have been risky to try anything there. Åart of Visma's aggressive riding in the first ten days was to limit the bonus seconds / small gaps that Pog has often got on this sort of terrain.
