I'd say it's been pretty effective. In ten days on terrain that largely suited Pog he opened no time gaps, managed 12 seconds advantage in bonuses and didn't ride for at least two possible stage wins people thought he would go for. Barring the disastrous TT that's about perfect for the opener for Visma. Could easily have been four stages won with Jonas out of the bonuses and maybe a handful of seconds on top of that, so maybe a minute without the TT.

It is a bit hard to ignore that isn't it. We can ramble on about tactics during rest days and sprint stages, but he's given Pog a whole fecking minute for free. I can't see that ending well.

indeed on terrain that you wouldn't expect any major gaps for the top GC contenders bar the bonification, he shipped over a minute on a short flat TT
