I watched it again. Seemed to land in the cycle lane which had a much kinder surface. His shorts were hardly ripped. If he’s got a problem it will be with his hip.

Nope. Rider came from behind him on the left, wanted to go with the move on the right, went through between riders and straight through his front wheel. Riders in front hadn't moved right yet either.
