Jonas reportedly rides a Cervélo S5 this tour, which is usually a 1x as far as I can tell.

It feels like a lifetime ago now, but summer '03 we had a family holiday that was approx 60mins drive from Carcassonne airport, in a tiny town called Guitalens. It's the one and only time I've seen TDF tarmac to date, its quality compared to the UK roads was incredible!

And I've just looked up a Strava segment for Hautacam (not the verified one apparently), Pog beat his old KOM leaderboard time from '22 today, previous best was 35mins and something seconds (now 33mins27secs, Onley second in 36mins33secs from today)!

It is. He seems to have favoured that 1 x wide range for a while. Didnt do him any favours today but then nothing apart from a motor or Pog falling off would have done

Oh. My. Gosh. Well, thats the yellow jumper sorted. The race for the other 2 podium places could be entertaining. And the green and red spotty jumpers too. Looking forward to the next 3 stages.

White jersey looks to be the most interesting. Remco is almost 5 minutes behind Pogacar, so maybe these young guns will try and sneak into breakaways

The funny thing is that even Jonny Milan doing his damnedest to save energy and finish without getting eliminated will go up it over twice as fast as most mortals could.

To be fair, if you're going up a climb at 20kmh you don't really need a small chainring.

Healy went up Hautacam 15 minutes quicker than me, despite him being dead (and with 100km in his legs)

Was hoping to find some Xavier Disley info on bike choice etc. for today's ITT, but he hasn't posted anything - I even went into the Nazi sewer to see. I suspect the most important choice today will be choosing to be Tadej Pogacar, which is probably worth around ten seconds per km on any other rider.

Pog didn't even have his earpiece in at that time, the commentators mentioned just after he started riding away that he was putting it back in.
