You gotta wonder what's he on??

Not really. The game has moved on for all the top guys.

They are also subject to a barrage of tests these days, too.

Tbh. I find it clichéd and depressing when someone fires this sort of under the radar accusation at top athletes in any sport without any proof.

Pog didn't even have his earpiece in at that time, the commentators mentioned just after he started riding away that he was putting it back in.

Yeah, but it wasn't like they were riding conservatively before Narvaez took over with the sprint. He was the last UAE left, after they'd burned through Wellens and Yates in quick succession. If he didn't want to launch he could have tried to communicate it far earlier.

I've got no idea why he'd lie about it, but I've also got no idea why he'd leave himself with only Narvaez - very much his mountain sprint leadout rather than a pacer - at the foot of Hautacam.

Re the "Jonny Narvaez doesn't understand jokes" thing, I. wonder in Pog was irritated about some kind of screw up/ disagreement in UAE (we'll never know what) and expressed his annoyance through the medium of talking bollocks.

That's got Lance Armstrong written all over it?!
Or perhaps he's just physiological better than everyone else in the peleton?!

Like a Bolt or Mo Farah?

Bikes, training, nutrition, diet, hydration, high altitude training, etc, etc have all moved on, vastly.
Then there is ketones and sodium bicarbonate. Probably more legal stuff too.

Plus a far broader athlete pool (globalisation, not limited to those willing to dope, not limited to those that benefit most from EPO), who have trained with empirical methods and power data since they were kids.

But let's not get into this here, it's a race thread :becool:

I don't think that was the plan. It was Narvaez - Yates - Pog after Wellens pulled off but Yates had to pull out of the line before he could do anything

Was hoping to find some Xavier Disley info on bike choice etc. for today's ITT, but he hasn't posted anything - I even went into the Nazi sewer to see. I suspect the most important choice today will be choosing to be Tadej Pogacar, which is probably worth around ten seconds per km on any other rider.
