I'd do that first 89.5km no problem, if they reversed that part of the route and forget the other 93ish k

Yep, 19km at 7.5% ish before the Aspin, Peyresourde and Superbagnere if I remember correctly

Superbagnere is much, much tougher than the Tourmalet if I remember correctly. It felt a lot tougher than the graphics above indicate.
Yes, I did the Peyresourde before it. Aspin & Tourmalet were on different days but those two alone were bloody tough enough.

Did you do both just from the base . The tourmalet is a massive bump in the road.

DK TV2 caught Cort befor the TT today and asked if he was taking it easy with the stage tomorrow.
It went something like
Cort: "TBH I don't even know what's coming tomorrow any more"
TV2: "It's Superbagnères"
Cort: *thousand yard stare*

So having now read this on Wikipedia I'm a little less red-faced:

Some Frenchmen believe that Tourmalet translates into "bad trip" or "bad detour" because in French Tour translates into "trip" and mal translates into "bad"; however, the correct language to translate from is Gascon, not French, because of the mountain's location in the Gascony region. Then Tour becomes "distance", which is spelled "tur" but pronounced "tour" and mal is translated into "mountain". The translation from Gascon to English then becomes "Distance Mountain".[6]

Also, I will never trust anything @mididoctors says again.

DCLane

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Watching it on catch-up and Pog must've been watching the UK hillclimbing videos; no paint, no bar tape, no hoods, etc. We've a bike like that at home. And no radio, presumably to save more weight. They'd even removed the metal bottle cage inserts!

Wonder if we'll see him at local hillclimbs / the national hillclimb championship?
