It’s a very early finish tomorrow, so roll out is just after 11am. There’s almost 3000 metres of climbing packed into this designer breakaway stage.

Absolutely - huge miscalculation by Vingo, I guessed Pog would be doing the bare minimum to finish as the winner after his statements yesterday about just wanting to finish and get home - it could have been a bluff of course but with time running out and Pog not attacking why didn't Vingo go for it to at least try for a stage win?

If he went early pog would counter and win

Has anyone ever refused to wear a jersey they did own?

Don't know about historically, but you have to wear the race jerseys, it's UCI mandated and you'd get chucked off the race if you refuse. You can refuse a hand-me-down race jersey if you're got a championship jersey

With Aremsman up the road ? I think Vingo could have won this stage, well at least have a chance...seems like he's not willing to risk anything.

Every other time he's attacked it's ended with Pog sitting on his wheel and mugging him on the line. It seems a little daft to try the same again and expect a different result. For the first time this Tour he beat Pog in a sprint, so he wasn't wrong tactically, but the timing was two seconds out.

Beating Pog to second on this stage and taking two seconds when over 4 minutes down overall,no stage wins....poor show for me. Thought he'd at least give it a go after sitting on his wheel so long.
We'll agree to disagree 😁

Pogacar looks sick to me in the interview after the stage. I think he is hiding it and basically limping to the finish. His limping is still better than almost everyone else.
Maybe Jonas would have tried something on a longer stage. The short (shortened) intense stages favour Tadej.
Would have liked to see Vingegaard try again, but maybe he doesn't have it. It's easy to tell someone to attack from at home. He is fatigued as much as Pogacar and maybe just doesn't have it in the legs anymore to attack violently.

I don't understand this. Vingos playbook is sitting on the wheel and not attacking.....he did again today ....and yet people are surprised.....not attacking is what he does.

That's nothing like what's been happening this Tour at all. Pog has been staring at Vingegaard's arse since he got his gap.
Mad that people have already forgotten why Pog and Jonas were without teammates in the valley yesterday, or even how Vingegaard and Rogic battered Pog all over the Col du Granon in '22, the Hautacam stage with Van Aert, trading blows in the first week in '23....

Vinegaard had second secure so there was no reason not to try for the stage win, so what if he got mugged by Pog, he wasn't going to ever lose second, but it could have resulted in a stage win. Instead he did nothing and came second again.
I think he's let his team down again by not even trying.

He did try for the stage win. He was just two seconds short of it. Why on earth would he tow Pog up the climb again and get mugged again? Where's the sense in that? You're sitting and sneering at the one single tactic that's got his bike over the line in front of Pogacar this Tour.
