Froome has done well financially and cant fault his palmares.
Ayuso! didnt he get get told by Almeida to get up front last year instead of skulking in the wheels?

Resigning Tao for Lidl-Trek ought to be a super hard choice. He's 30 already and signing him has not paid off at all. Letting him go elsewhere could burn you though, if everything falls in place in the next 2-3 years. It's possible he could win 1-2 GT's the big dogs don't attend.
Personally, I would not resign him.

I think we'll see next season. He's got another year to show he can make it back, but even if he does get to 2020 Giro winning levels the peloton level has gone up massively in 5 years. When he won his Giro, neither Pog nor Vingegaard had won a Tour, Ayuso and Del Toro hadn't raced a pro race and Seixas was barely out of his dad's urethra.

Light on rouleurs, no? Not sure they're going to be able to control the break, so Visma could make things difficult for them by getting van Aert away (see the Giro this year)

Now this is what I call a well balanced team. Phwoar! That's absolutely phenomenal. Obviously it all comes down to Pog V Jonas anyway, but Visma have come with the best possible team for the challenge.

Only name I don't recognise in the Jumbo lineup is Affini and I don't follow pro cycling much at all. Looks strong besides for any flat stage sprint finishes.

Van Aert can sprint OKish.... 😱

Affini is a classy tester - reigning European champion and world's bronze. Would also have a couple of Italian champs in the bag if it wasn't for that pesky Pippo Ganna

I understand the Danish based bias, but I don't understand the shade on the UAE that won the Tour last year, with 7 of the 8 riders returning, and one like for like (at least) replacement

Honestly don't you read the news

Van aert isn't ok at anything. He is a once in generation cycling super hero 😃

I know @Col1n didn't start this thread for general race discussions but it seems to have turned into that.

@Moderators or @Col1n could you add a SPOILERS warning to the thread title please.

I mean, it should be obvious, but the first sign of a spoiler without a matching thread title warning will cause a kerfuffle.
