Long time ago now back in summer '03, we had a family holiday where we flew to Carcasonne and then drove to a tiny hamlet called Guitalens, I was shocked at how good the road quality was compared to home. Was then told TDF regularly rides through the area.

After years of being ignored, the Snake Pass is finally being repaired. Probably not coincidentally, the Tour de France Femmes is due to ride over it this time next year

‘03: Now that really was the heatwave Summer. It’s the reason that many French Auberge now have A/C.
I spent the hottest night of my life in one such establishment in Central France. When we got out of the car, the temperature read 50C.
Luckily we had the presence of mind to take portable fans.

Surely with portable fans you just ensure even cooking at that temperature?

Look at trek

Sitting behind Pollit in the peloton, making sure UAE don't pull the break back?

Indeed.
I recall sitting outside at a restaurant in Bordeaux with 3 work colleaugues when very light rain started to fall just after our main courses arrived. Within no time it turned into a deluge and the canopies and umbrellas could not handle the torrent. We were ushered inside, right next to the open fire where the meat was beingcooked, yet did not have to wait long for another table and resume our meal. How the staff accommodated us still amazes me to this day. Later I learned we got off lightly as at another outside venue, there was thunder and lightning, along with the rain, and the marquees were blown down.
Some of the best chips I have ever eaten was that night, double cooked in goose fat.

TNT have worked out that the mid section of stages are perfect for Kirby. Nothing much happens so he can waffle to his hearts consent.
Even Nico Roche is talking about watches on NZ commentary.
