Looking at the women's TTT route in London and I'm wondering if they just borrowed it from an open top bus tour. It ticks off just about every major landmark in central London

Whitehall, The Cenotaph, Downing Street gates, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, London Eye (across the water), Tower of London, Tower Bridge, London Bridge (inevitably a disappointment to tourists), Monument, Bank of England, St Pauls, Trafalgar Square, Nelsons Column, Piccadilly Circus, The Serpentine, Diana Memorial Fountain, Albert Memorial, Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park Corner & through the Wellington Arch, Buckingham Palace and finish on The Mall.

They should just switch the DS out with a tour guide in the teams cars

Sorry. What I meant was: I didn't know that Rest Days had a "location" as such. It's the stage before and after that is specified.

No, they always have a location, that’s how i knew to go to Morzine and Carcassone in the past and if you look at the list of stages, the first rest day is in Cherbourg and the third one is in Toulouse so you have a fair idea of where to head to. Just saying “Haute Savoie” for the location of the second rest day gives you a rather large area to aim for!

Been there, a wonderful place!

Busy in Summer. That bike path to Albertville is good as is riding around the lake and you've got the mountains nearby

Relatively easy to close those roads with creating too much chaos

A rest day, by its very definition, can't have a location, as there is no stage that day.
"So where is nothing happening today Sean?"
"Give it rest Carlton, contractually I don't have to talk to you today"

This year's rest day was similar non? Teams staying in a range of hotels across Haute Savoie. Though there were definitely a few in Annecy, found ourselves behind Quinn Simmons and his Dad
