I'm going to be torn if it comes down to a battle between KND and Vollering.

Not a Reusser friendly profile if the giro is to go by. Reduced bunch sprint or late attack from a reduced GC group or movistar gets lucky and a decent break goes . Hard to.call .

Lovely area to ride...

...and to drink wine; chardonnay>gamay.

I noticed that the route passes through every Cru Beaujolais village. As I said on another thread, somebody in the ASO is partial to a drop of Gamay.

Gun to tape coverage tomorrow. To me it looks like one of the toughest days in the race. Riders out the back almost immediately. Going to be a battle of survival for some and definitely a GC battle at the other end of the peloton.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
If it's raced hard, that's going to be HARD. Relentless climbs, no getting into a rhythm.

Seeing as they start today from Macon, here's a Macon-themed quote from Waiting for Godot.

ESTRAGON: The Macon country! Who’s talking to you about the Macon country?
VLADIMIR: But you were there yourself, in the Macon country.
ESTRAGON: No I was never in the Macon country! I’ve puked my puke of a life away here, I tell you! Here! In the Cackon country!
