Tour De France - Stage 19 Embrun to Salon de Provence

Does anyone have any hints or tips as to the route for Stage 19 of the tour? We were out riding yesterday and they have completely retarmaced the descent to Montbrun Les Bains from Col de Macuegne and there are rumours here are that it will pass through Sisteron but yet to be confirmed! We are guessing that it will pass very close to us.

It would be great to see it pass our front door in the Gorges de la Meouge in our first full year living in France:smile:

Thanks
Paul

Go on the TdF official website, it will show you every stage and which towns they go through.

They don't usually give the exact routes to be taken until June*, they'll have start and finish towns and a squiggly line between the towns which will give an indication of where the route might head but it's so general that it won't show the exact route.

From what @Paul_SerreDesOrmes says in the OP re new road surface I would think there is a good chance it might just go there.

* Unless they have changed that this year!

I just realised I rode through the Gorges de la Meouge on my September cycling trip. Here's 2 photos I took riding through that area:

I think that tunnel is called Le Banc du Bouc?

I envy you, it must be nice being surrounded by such scenery.

@Marmion Thanks for the reply and yes your right so far it is just the start and the arrival towns listed on the tdf site. It can't go too far from us but just getting over excited!!

@Shut Up Legs you must have cycled right past out front door... I wonder if you spotted the yellow bike ????? It's an amazing place to live and cycle, we have fingers crossed we can make it work.

Yes, I think I must have, although even looking at Google StreetView, I still can't quite recall it. But then the StreetView images are covered in snow, and my trip was early September. It was also a 175km ride that day, from 4km east of Bedoin to Corps, via Col de l'Homme Morte, Col d'Espreaux and Col du Festre, so I passed through a lot of towns, and Salérans must have been one of them.

By the way: I noticed on your web site that one of the rides you take your guests to is Montagne de Lure. I checked it out on Google Maps and StreetView, and it looks like a thoroughly enjoyable climb, from either the north or south. I'd love to try it one day: it's almost like Mont Ventoux, I noticed it's only 100m lower.
