The commentator (is it Marty?) isn’t exactly Hatch when it comes to pronunciation.

thank goodness, Jez is mangling his welsh place names on Discovery +

funniest thing all week was the sign on announcer on stage 1 didnt know how to say Fabian Cancellara:biggrin:

Wheel changes are still a problem...

which is weird because Id seen a few recently where it looked theyd finally got to grips with it and well honed.

I guess its still that human stress factor & panic, you know every second is costing your breakaway rider, and thats when you make the mistakes that cost more seconds and it fumbles.

Such a short stage today. Still feels like a really wasted opportunity too, there’s some really good climbs in those parts.

I noticed yesterday they seem to want to finish stages by about 3pm UK time, which I wondered if La Vuelta was being a factor, abit like in womens world tour races when theres a mens Grand Tour on, the tv companies dont like the race finishes clashing, so theyve organised it to benefit their tv coverage perhaps ?

I dont know. obviously they could have started earlier to add the extra climbs in here, but they do seem to run to a set finish time.

On weekdays I think they want to finish by 2:30pm so as not to disrupt school run traffic!

They could definitely have started earlier. They didn’t roll out until 11.45 and there was no transfer yesterday. I think they had the luxury of the same bed two nights running with many of them being in the Celtic Manor about 10 minutes from the start line.
