and Wiebes had no team mates in the break, they must have not been able to keep the pace as they climbed out of Castleton, so no point towing Wiebes to give her more bonus points if its going to be a tight race.

I see the strategy, but they seemed to be working quite hard to not bring it back.

I too got lucky with the weather. The very calm wind kept it safe for everyone.
And tomorrow, it appears that both Stokesley and Saltburn can again be on my ride itinerary.
They certainly find Ayton Great, GA getting a 2nd visit.

I suspect the two BBC commentators reccied the 'windy' route Tuesday or Wednesday

Great views of the moors. WTOB ,Both Faulkner & Le Court were just stronger than anyone on the climb.
Made me want to go back and cycle there....beautiful but brutal.

Court ( race leader) crashed near stage start . She's riding still but did go down fairly hard

Right Stage 2 is underway. Break of 3 (2 brits in it) have just under 2 mins on the peloton. The Mauritian Marvel came off early in the stage but is back in the peloton so hopefully nothing serious.
