Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
The latest news is that Eloy Terue who is competing in the tour of California thought he had finished the
stage and had won, only to find out that there was one lap to go.

He finished in 56th place. How embarassing. Has anyone else here competing in a race done the same thing or something similar? I dont mean has anyone competed in the race, but any race.

It's usually Jockeys who forget that there's another circuit to go :blush:- it was truly embarrassing and made much worse by the camera focusing on his face waiting for the poor guy to realise the horrible truth.

Just watching a rerun..
I've never taken part in any race..
received many strokes of the belt in school for refusing to take part in school sports...

Yes, it was excruciating to watch and, a split second before the camera shot left him, there was a change in his expression - merciful, I suppose, that the camera didn't let us all see it dawn on him.
 
It was a Shame for the Spanish Guy ....As I guess he does nt understand English... little embarrassing for him and his team mates !

David Millar stopped at what he thought was the end of Paris Roubaix this season and had a natter with some friends. 5 minutes later it was pointed out to him that he still had one lap of the velodrome to go.
