Nice post, thanks, we will definitely be going through Slovenia on our tour of Europe next year.

Lovely ride report rich! I read it as though I had written it...unlucky!

4th,5th and the 8th of August particularly might have proven difficult to negotiate. It is lucky that you respect your age and not your ambition..

Makes one want to be there - very good.

Nice report, Rich, it's on the list for next spring.

I last went to that area on my parents' first ever holiday abroad, in 1962, so the photos did bring back some memories. Even the hillside TITO: there was a lot of debate at the time about what he was for, but once he was dead we soon found out.

I would like to see your photos, but each time I have tried, it seems to take a verrryy long time to load. I will keep trying. I was planning to visit Slovenia last year, and may visit next year instead.

Nice report Rich. We've just done two weeks in the southern French alps and have been thinking about Sloviania/Croatia for next summer, it's between that and doing the northern alps from Geneva at the moment.

I can beat the 80 quid for left luggage, 112 euros for 14 days at Nice airport!

Yes, it's not cheap is it! The only other time I've been in that situation we had cycled there so I bought 2 bike bags from the local Decathlon shop for £60 the pair. If you could plan that it would be cheaper to take them out in cardboard and buy new bags each time!

Are you going to do a CrazyGuy report? I saw your post last week.

A very pleasant log and the pics were ok as well. I thought I recognsied Lake Bled. It was very pretty as I remember. I was there in 1991 when it was formally Yugoslavia just as the fighting was starting leading to the Balkan war.

I will probably do a report for the club news letter, you've set the bar too high for CGOAB!
We flew BA who now stipulate that bikes must be in a proper box or bag so cardboard wasn't an option, the service was very good though and it worked out cheaper than going 'low cost' £250 heathrow-nice for both of us.

By the way, it's gratifying to see that someone else thinks that as much time as possible should be spent in bars & restaurants when you're touring! How do you rate Slovenian steak & chips? It's a major deciding factor on where we go next year.
