I am Welsh and have had the same in a few places in North Wales. Just have to man up and accept the fact I guess. That or run

I am French and live in North Wales. I have never had any problems with the Welsh and always found them friendly, welcoming and of a warm nature. They dont burn cottages anymore so enjoy your trip.

As previously suggested the Elan Valley and Rhayader is a fantastic area to cycle in. The cycle route Lon Cambria goes from Aberystwyth across to Rhayader and beyond. (Route 81) In Rhayader you can pick up the Lon Las Cymru (Route 8)

I have cycled route 81 and it is simply fantastic. Worth doing if you can factor it in. Route 8 north from Rhayader is very hilly and exposed in parts, but if the weather is kind you will see some beautiful countryside.

Have a great ride whatever route you decide on. I have always found people are very helpful to cycle tourists, once they get over the fact that your cycling HOW FAR?
