I'm trying to mount a bike carrier on my tow bar but the electric sockets are exactly where the bolts that attach the carrier to the mounting need to be.

So I've been looking around the web for a plate that I could use to move the current electrics plate to the left by about 150mm. But such a plate doesn't appear to exist.

Any ideas?

It only looks a few MM out? take a file to the holes in the socket mount and elongate the hole a little.

Or the bodge option is to take a drill and a large drill bit, and 'lean' the drill so the bit cuts a grove.

If your tow bar is type approved to have a spacer then add one to bring all but the electrics plate away from the car, might just be enough clearance then?

Forget that as you're using the allowance with the stabiliser mounting.

use the right hand hole on the left side . will move the plate across and as long as it is tight the electrics will not move . remember to remove the swaybar/stabiliser plate

If you do this you should fit a suitably thick washer/spacer on the right hand stud to prevent the towing plate being twisted/insecurely mounted when you bolt it back on.
