Yes! Totally! A mate of my dad gave me a load of old lab equipment too. I had a Bunsen, a still and all kinds of glassware.

Plus the Mamod traction engine and an Airfix slot car racing system (not compatible with Scalextric) but you could motorise some of the Airfix kits to run on it. I had a Ford Zodiac amongst others.

Never had Lego but had something called, I think, Minibrix which was naff and used rubber bricks. Meccano with a clockwork motor power unit.

I thought about saying “I only ever had a cardboard box” but I think someone beat me to it.

A bike, obv, with Sturmey Archer. Those were the days, eh?

It was the first racing set I had. It was the Cooper Climax and Ferrari 156 Shark nose.
You had to put thin copper strips into each end of the metal electric contact strips set into the track which was a bit of a faf. I had my set for years until the crown wheels spun to one side on the axle . They didn't have the keeper which Scalextric had which prevented it . I ran Scalextric cars on my track by splaying the braids sideways .
