'Er indores asked me to pump up her tyres for a 2016 maiden journey, which I did. Turning back to the house, there was a bang loud enough to make me jump, and I thought uh-oh. Sure enough, the rear tube had exploded.
When I got the thing out, I found it was massively oversized - all folded in on itself. I couldn't find any markings on it, beyond the maker's name and 'Made in China', but at a guess I'd say it might have been 700x60 or something like that. Replaced it with the correct 700x28, and all is well...
